Actor Kartik Aaryan visits Statue of Unity, pays tribute to Sardar Patel

Ekta Nagar (Gujarat): Bollywood Actor Kartik Aaryan on Monday visited the Statue of Unity at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat’s Narmada district and paid floral tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, while also experiencing the region’s tribal culture during his visit.

Aaryan was in Ekta Nagar to attend the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony, which was held in the presence of Sardar Patel’s Statue.

During his visit to the Statue of Unity, he paid floral tribute to Patel, who is credited as the architect of India’s unity and integration.

The actor also visited the viewing gallery of the 182-metre statue, from where he saw panoramic views of the Narmada River, the Satpura and Vindhya mountain ranges and the Sardar Sarovar Narmada Dam.

He was also briefed about the various tourist attractions and facilities developed at the Statue of Unity and Ekta Nagar, as well as the planned tourism development works in the area.

Speaking about his visit, Aaryan said: “Today, I visited the world’s tallest statue, the Statue of Unity, with my family. It is a matter of pride to see the world’s tallest statue, which is a symbol of unity. Everyone should visit the Statue of Unity.”

He also spoke about his National Film Award, saying, “My film has received its first National Award, which is a matter of pride for me.”

During the visit, Aaryan participated in traditional Holi and Rathwa tribal dances of Nani Devruvan, associated with Narmada and Chhota Udepur districts.

The Statue of Unity Authority specially organised the performances, allowing the actor to experience the region’s tribal traditions.

Amit Arora, Chief Executive Officer of the Statue of Unity Area Development and Tourism Regulation Authority, honoured Aaryan with a memento and a photograph.

He also briefed the actor about the Statue of Unity and various tourism projects in Ekta Nagar.
