With one-third of Gujarat about to enter into the festival season of Navratri, there's a new trend among Ahmedabadites which is gaining momentum before this festive season – intravenous (IV) vitamin drips. These treatments are being touted as energy, skin enhancement and keeping a person refreshed through long nights of Garba, and are being used by youngsters as well as working professionals.

The infusions might also include nutrients like vitamin C, B-complex vitamins, zinc and glutathione. Clinics provide various formulas designed for folks who want to be more energetic and fresh looking in the midst of the nine-day festival.

The cost of IV Drip Sessions is up to Rs 15000

The price of an IV drip in Ahmedabad varies from Rs 4,000 to Rs 10,000, depending on the clinic and the ingredients, among other factors. Multiple session packages cost as high as Rs. 15000.

The treatments are attractive to those who have busy work lives and are planning late-partying social events. Others have taken them as a one-time treatment before the onset of the Navratri instead of making them a part of their regular wellness regime.

Young Professionals Embark on IV Therapy!

Prahlad Nagar's 24-year-old digital strategist Riya Shah, whose name was changed in the report, told PTI that she was exhausted due to work, late-night Garba practice had affected her skin and she had been feeling exhausted.

Friends from her Garba group had asked her to have a session of IV with the glow in mind, so she could have her energy and look fresh during the festivities.

The trend is not limited to younger residents. The treatment is also being studied by working adults in their 30s and 40s, who have to deal with the physical demands of dancing for several hours, while still working.

Amit Patel, 38, a financial consultant from Bodakdev, says he took a one time investment in energy as he was getting tired from dancing all night and waking up early for work the following day. He called it a seasonal treatment and not something he would use on a regular basis.

Doctors Warn Against Unsupervised Infusions

Doctors have warned about unnecessary beauty or health treatments that involve giving intravenous fluids.

Dr Kinjal Mehta, an Ahmedabad dermatologist, practicing in Sola, said these infusions are a concentrated form of nutrients and can only be used after assessing a patient's medical history and needs.

Allergic reactions, fluid overload and other side effects are potential complications, especially without screening or supervision.

Are the IV Vitamin Drips a true source of energy and skin?

IV therapy is the IV administration of fluids and nutrients directly into the bloodstream. In certain conditions, this course may be medically beneficial, but there is limited scientific evidence for the use of vitamin infusions to boost energy or enhance the appearance of skin in healthy individuals.

There are also recommended precautions, such as for infection, for ingredients, for overdoses of nutrients, for hydration and fluid issues. Those interested in the treatment should seek the advice from a competent health care provider and not infuse without medical supervision.

The trend is growing as a result of the long hours of dancing and late nights during Navratri. But health professionals emphasize that IV drips aren't a magic pill for improved fitness or radiant complexion.

Always love to raise the unraised matter. In a world of worries, I am always ready to come over my comfort zone and taking the step ahead of spreading awareness.
