Mumbai: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has granted approval for all bank branches, offices, ATM-linked branches and currency chests to remain fully operational on Sunday.
Many public sector banks have announced that they would remain open on Sunday, September 27, 2026, ahead of the proposed three-day nationwide bank strike.
The three-day bank strike is scheduled for September 28-30.
Public sector banks (such as SBI) and Regional Rural Banks (such as Telangana Grameena Bank) are scheduled to remain open on Sunday as per the RBI’s instructions.
However, private banks are not part of the strike and they are likely to stay closed on Sunday unless they get separate instructions to stay open.
