The COVID-19 pandemic in India continued to rage through various parts, with the death toll now climbing to 4,167 while the total number of confirmed cases recorded so far crossed 1,45,000. The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 1,45,830, as per the data put out by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Over 6,500 new cases were reported from various states across the country over the last 24 hours.

Maharashtra continues grapple with the COVID-19 crisis and has been reporting high number of coronavirus positive cases. The state's tally has now risen to 52,667 with the death count climbing to 1695. Mumbai has been contributing the most to the case-load in Maharashtra, with the total number of cases in the city now reaching 40,438. The Maximum City has reported 1026 deaths so far, about a quarter of the total number of deaths in the country.

Tamil Nadu has recorded 17,082 confirmed COVID-19 cases with a low fatality rate of 118 deaths. 8731 patients been discharged or have recovered in the state so far.

Gujarat has been recording consistently high numbers and the number of confirmed Coronavirus patients in the state has reached 14,460. Gujarat has reported a very high fatality rate of 888 deaths.

Delhi, with a few cases less than Gujarat has also been one of the major hotspots of COVID-19 with the total count in the national capital surging to 14,053. Delhi has recorded 276 deaths so far.

Rajasthan has reported 7,300 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and has seen 167 deaths.

Madhya Pradesh has reported 6,859 confirmed COVID-19 cases with a mortality rate of 300 deaths.
