Gujarat is getting ready to welcome US President Donald Trump on his two-day visit to India on February 24 and 25.

Ahmedabad: Gujarat is getting ready to welcome US President Donald Trump on his two-day visit to India on February 24 and 25. A packed Motera stadium in Ahmedabad, the largest of its kind in the world will play host to the massive 'Namaste Trump' event, which was earlier called 'Khem Cho Trump'.

Several leaders of the industry, celebrated Indian cricketers including Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar and Irfan Pathan, will also be in attendance at the event. About 1.10 lakh people are expected to be present at the 'Namaste Trump' event scheduled to be held on Monday next.

Business leaders expect a trade deal to be signed between the two leaders based on current trade negotiations. Officials say that the signing of a limited trade deal is on the cards, according to media reports.

Ahmedabad is being decked up for President Trump's visit. The Gujarat administration seems to be making every effort to see that a clean city showcasing Prime Minister Modi's 'Swachh Bharat' initiative is presented to the US guests.

President Trump will be accompanied by First Lady of the US, Melania Trump. Several cultural events have also been lined up as part of the 'Namaste Trump' event. President Trump will first visit Gandhiji's Sabarmati Ashram where he will also operate the charkha or spinning wheel, synonymous with the Father of the Nation. This will be followed by the much-awaited roadshow to the Motera stadium.

High-level security arrangements are reported to be in place in coordination with US agencies. The Gujarat police, Special Protection Group (SPG) and the Secret Service of the United States President's security detail are coordinating the security arrangements along with other agencies.

President Trump is scheduled to go from Ahmedabad to Agra and Delhi.
