New Delhi/Gurugram: The Haryana government on Wednesday approved the formation of a new municipal body in Manesar to give more momentum to the development of Gurugram. The jurisdiction of this municipal body covers 29 villages. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has approved many such decisions in the Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday.

The Chief Minister said that there were 10 municipal corporations in Haryana till now. "Today we have approved the formation of a new municipal body in Manesar, whose jurisdiction covers 29 villages, with an area of 125 square kilometers. There are now 11 municipal corporations inside Haryana," he said.

It has also been decided in the cabinet meeting that a state level program on Good Governance Day will be held in Kurukshetra. In addition, district, block and tehsil level programs will also be organized.
