Former Pakistani all - rounder made it to the headlines again when he reviewed the 2019 World Cup match between India and England. He criticized other bowlers while praising Shami for being a Muslim and giving his best to save the match. He says, "Shami hai bhi tho Musalman, achi baat hai." Which means, it's a good thing that he is a Muslim. These comments were made on a local TV channel. There have been quite a few social appearances from various people of Pakistan, among which one is Basit Ali, who said, India will not play to their ability to Ensure that, Pakistan doesn't enter the semi finals.

After the match with England, India's sportsmanship has been questioned by Pakistani Pacer, Waqar Younis, who also tweeted, "It is not who we are, it is what we do in life defines us. Me not bothered if Pakistan gets to semis or not, but the sportsmanship of few cricketers have been tested and they failed miserably."

Mohammed Shami becomes the second bowler after Afridi to take 4 wickets in 3 consecutive matches in a world cup. Indian fans are More disappointed with the performance of Dhoni and Kedar, where they did not accelerate their performance though we had a chance at winning, than the match with lost with England.
