Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath resigned on Friday two hours ahead of the No Trust vote scheduled to have been held as per the orders of the Supreme Court. At a media briefing, he accused the BJP of attempting to destabilise his government from day one. He recalled that he was sworn in as Chief Minister on 17 December 2018. In these 15 months he endeavoured to work for the development of the state, Kamal Nath said.

Kamal Nath claimed that he tried to give a new identity to the state of Madhya Pradesh. The Chief Minister added that he was given a mandate for five years and the BJP hijacked this. which he got. Kamal Nath remark that he believed that the people of the state had confidence in him and that they would teach the BJP a lesson in future.

The BJP tried to destabilise his government repeatedly, Kamal Nath claimed. He also claimed that his government had achieved in 15 months what the BJP could not accomplish in 15 years.

The chief Minister said that the BJP plotted against his government and betrayed public mandate. Kamal Nath described the BJP's act of toppling his government as a murder of democracy. He pointed out that the BJP held his MLAs captive in Bengaluru. 22 MLAs of the Congress were kidnapped and held hostage in Karnataka, Kamal Nath said.

Kamal Nath claimed that his government worked tirelessly against mafias in different sectors. He said that these mafias had become entrenched in MP during the 15 year rule of the BJP.
