Minor Class 10 Students Harassed By Group Of Men In Bihar
Two Class 10 students in Bihar’s Jamui district were allegedly stopped and harassed by a group of men while returning from Madwa Pahad on Saturday evening. A video purportedly showing the incident later surfaced on social media, prompting police to begin an investigation.
As per the report, the minor boy and girl had gone to the popular hill spot and were on a scooter returning home when seized by the group. The men are believed to have beaten the two students, getting them off the scooter and chased them as they tried to run off.
Video Of Incident Circulates On Social Media
A member of the group reportedly recorded the incident on a mobile phone. The video, which subsequently circulated on social media, shows a man allegedly grabbing the boy by his shirt collar and attempting to pull him towards the group.
The boy, with the girl’s assistance, managed to free himself. The two then attempted to flee from the spot.
Then things took a turn for the worst when another man was alleged to grab the girl by her neck and throw her into the air. The boy intervened and tried to stop the man from taking her away.
There also seems to be physical violence towards the girl during the confrontation in the video.
Students Allegedly Forced To Apologise
The harassment reportedly continued as the two minors tried to leave the area on their scooter.
According to the report, one of the men attempted to pull the girl away while another continued filming the incident. The group also allegedly made the two students apologise.
The girl can reportedly be heard pleading with the men to let them leave and promising that they would not return to the location.
The group eventually allowed the two students to leave the area.
Police Begin Probe, Search For Accused
Police took cognisance of the incident after the video was circulated online. A senior police officer confirmed that the incident and the video had come to the police’s attention and said the process of registering an FIR had been initiated.
Police have spoken to the two minors and are collecting information about the people allegedly involved based on their statements.
Police are continuing to look for the members of the group and are trying to find out what each person did during the incident.
Police are also gathering information about the incident and checking for accuracy in what can be seen in the video that went viral. An investigation into those allegedly involved in the affair is underway.
