TRICHY: On Wednesday the DMK president M K Stalin had said that, in the upcoming elections the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre and Edappadi K Palaniswami-led AIADMK government in Tamil Nadu will be deposed.

After launching the campaign for the Lok-Sabha elections and the by elections in 18 assembly constituencies, in Tiruvarur, while addressing a public meeting, Stalin had said that, the Secular Progressive Alliance had been constituted based on ideological unity. He asserted that the alliance led by the DMK would continue even after the elections.

"Just like New Delhi is the capital of India and Chennai is the capital of Tamil Nadu, Tiruvarur is the capital of the DMK. Getting greetings from Thiruvarur people is like from Kalaignar (Karunanidhi) himself," Stalin said.

Even after ruling the country for five years, Modi had not inaugurated any projects but has only laid foundation stones, a week before the announcement of the general elections, he said. The DMK president accused the BJP of not fulfilling the promises which were made during the previous election.
