New Delhi: Days after the car crash in which the Unnao rape survivor was seriously injured and two of her aunts killed, a letter written to the Chief Justice of India by the victim's family has come to light, expressing their fear about constant threats by they face and danger to their lives allegedly by the accused persons in the case.

An official of the Supreme Court said the letter written in Hindi has been received by the office of the Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi who has asked the court's Secretary General to prepare a note out of it and place it before him.

"The CJI has asked the Secretary General to go through the letter written in Hindi for preparing a note of it for his perusal," he told PTI. The letter dated July 12, written by the survivor and two of her family members, was also sent to the Allahabad High Court and other authorities of the Uttar Pradesh government.

UP BJP Chief Swatantra Dev Singh said rape accused Kuldeep Singh Sengar has been suspended from the party and will stay suspended. He added that a CBI inquiry in the case was also underway.

Family members of the driver and the owner of the truck, which rammed into the car carrying the rape victim, on Tuesday denied the allegations of connections with the rape accused Sengar. The Lok Sabha witnessed uproar over a road accident.

When Speaker Om Birla allowed a discussion on The Consumer Protection Bill, 2019 for its passage and did not heed to the demand of the Congress, the entire opposition including TMC, DMK, SP, BSP and NCP members walked out of the House.

Soon after the House met, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury raised the issue saying the Uttar Pradesh government''s claim to convert the state as "Uttam Pradesh" (best state) was a hollow promise as it was moving in the direction of becoming an "Adham Pradesh" (bad state).
