Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday extended his heartfelt greetings on behalf of the people of the state to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of his 76th birthday, describing him as the visionary of a developed India and an unparalleled symbol of the nation’s self-respect and public service.

In a post on his X handle, Majhi said Modi’s visionary leadership has ushered in a new chapter of renaissance across the country. He expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister’s deep affection towards Odisha and its people and for his immense support for the development of infrastructure in the state.

"We will always remain grateful for his deep affection towards Odisha and its people, and for his immense support for the development of infrastructure in the State," said Majhi.

He also announced the launch of a month-long "Seva Sankalp Abhiyan" across the state. “On this memorable occasion, inspired by the welfare-oriented ideals of Modi Ji, we are observing ‘Seva Sankalp Parva’,” the Chief Minister stated.

He said the state government is once again committed to building a prosperous, empowered and developed Odisha through dedicated public service, ensuring the welfare of the poor and bringing smiles to the faces of every person standing in the last row of society.

Majhi also prayed to Mahaprabhu Shree Jagannath for the Prime Minister’s long and healthy life, good health and immense blessings. The Chief Minister further said PM Modi’s long and purposeful life journey will continue to provide new direction to India.

“Under the able leadership of Modi Ji, may the dream of a ‘viksit India’ be realised, and may our India emerge victorious in the world and continue to move forward,” Majhi said.

The Odisha unit of the ruling BJP had earlier announced a series of programmes to mark the occasion, including lighting earthen lamps, organising blood donation camps, conducting mass plantation drives and holding mass singing of the complete Vande Mataram between September 17 and October 17.
