Empower pharmacists, says Saswati
Bhubaneswar: Pharmacists need greater empowerment and societal recognition for their immense role in delivering quality healthcare, according to Saswati Das, Vice-President of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan. Speaking at an event at the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital Campus-1 to mark World Pharmacists Day, Das emphasised that their contributions are vital to serving society better.
At the event, Das emphasised that pharmacy schools must train students to be efficient, knowledgeable, and ethical professionals capable of adapting to modern healthcare demands.
State Drug Controller Mamina Patnaik spoke at the World Pharmacists’ Day event, which was themed “Empowering Pharmacists for Healthier Futures.”
The event was addressed by Additional Dean Ajay Kumar Jena, Medical Superintendent Pushparaj Samantasinghar, and Campus-2 Medical Superintendent Rajesh Kumar Lenka. Jasmin Panda, Head of Pharmacy, conducted the programme.
Award winners from earlier competitions received their prizes at a programme attended by hospital leadership, doctors, pharmacists, and nurses.
