Monsoon retreats from Odisha
Bhubaneswar: The southwest monsoon began withdrawing from Odisha on Thursday, with the process so far covering parts of six districts, the IMD said.
The monsoon has withdrawn from most parts of Baragada and some parts of Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Balangir, Nuapada and Nabarangpur districts. The line of withdrawal of the southwest monsoon now passes through Supaul, Ranchi, Sundaragada, Baragada, Bijapur, Hyderabad, Belagavi and Panjim, according to an IMD bulletin.
Conditions are becoming favourable for further withdrawal of the monsoon from some more parts of Odisha during the next three to four days, the weather office said. The southwest monsoon entered Odisha on June 12 and covered all 30 districts of the State by June 23.
