Sania Mirza

Kidambi Srikanth
One of the well-known pupils of Gopichand, Srikanth is one of the most talented badminton players in the country at present. The former World No. 1, who has been residing in Hyderabad for a very long time now and trains at the Gopichand Academy, was born in Ravulapalem, Andhra Pradesh.
Pullela Gopichand
Gopichand has contributed immensely to Indian badminton, both as a player and now coach. He ended India’s 21-year drought at the All England Open Badminton Championships when he won the marquee event in 2001. With his renowned Gopichand academy, he continues to groom India’s future. The likes of Sindhu, Saina, and Srikanth have come up under his coaching. He was born in Nagandla, Prakasam, Andhra Pradesh.
CK Nayudu
He was India’s first-ever Test captain that was against England at the iconic Lord’s in 1932. He was the son of Rao Bahadur Cottari Narayana Swamy Nayudu, a rich ‘kapu’, from Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh, a lawyer and landlord, who owned several villages. While he represented Andhra and Hyderabad among a few more teams in the domestic circuit, he was born in Nagpur.
