Change.Makers summer boot camp exhibition held today at IIT Delhi
School students from different corners of the country displayed their prototypes here at IIT, Delhi on Friday as a part of the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) summer boot camp. All school students were trained by faculty members, PhD students and post-graduate students to build upon their ideas and utilise the state-of-the-art facilities at the Makerspace, a DIY Central Research Facility at IIT Delhi.
JalTech, a prototype that repurposes R.O waste water, has been built by Hummam, Aaruhi Malhotra and Pulkita, all class 12 students. The prototype repurposes the waste water of the R.O, and reutilises it for alternate purposes such as gardening, depending upon the P.H Level of the water.
IKSHANA, a one of a kind innovation built by Vani Bedi, Divija Durga, and Rudra Gupta, that converts Text To Braille. The prototype has been built to convert text to braille by mapping/scanning the text and instantly creating Braille letters.
Another unique innovation at the seminar was Somnolence Prevention, that alerts the user when they are feeling drowsy. The prototype built by Kushagra Pant, Samridhi Vishth, and Jayant Chouhan, aims at alerting a vehicle driver and preventing them from accidentally dozing off behind the wheels while driving.
Rehabilitation Exercise Monitoring Device, built by Sara Kothari, Amitoj Singh and Pubhai Chakraborty, aims at charting and recording rehab exercises of a person. The prototype can be used by people of all age, and aims at monitoring rehabilitation exercise patterns of the user, be it a person of elderly age or a sportsman.
Emergency Purpose Inbuilt Car System, or EPICS, is a prototype built by Devansh Saraf, Yogesh Kumavat and Dharmendra Kumar, all class 12 students, that can convert a car seat into a stretcher. The intention of this innovation was to convert a car into an ambulance space during medical emergencies.
