India announce playing XI
The Indian team announced their playing XI for the third Test on the eve of the game and have made some crucial changes.
Mayank Agarwal dropped
India have dropped struggling opening batsman Mayank, who has scores of 17, 9 and 0, 5 in his last four innings.
Rohit Sharma returns
Rohit Sharma, who had been out of action due to an injury he suffered during the IPL last September, has been included in the playing XI. He will mostly open with Shubman Gill for India in the Sydney Test.
Cheteshwar Pujara
Pujara, who has scored a total of 63 runs so far this Test series, retains his No. 3 slot in the Indian team.
Ajinkya Rahane (c)
Rahane scored a match-winning knock of 112 in the previous game, which was his 12th century in Tests and second in Australian soil in the whites. He will look to continue leading from the front in Sydney.
Rishabh Pant (wk)
Pant, who replaced Wriddhiman Saha in the second Test, has been included in the XI for the third Test as well.
Navdeep Saini makes debut
Saini, who has represented India 17 times previously across the limited-overs formats, is set to make his Test debut in the Sydney Test.
