How to Chat with Gemini in Google Messages

Open Google Messages
Open the Google Messages app on your Android phone. Look for the Gemini chat to get started.
Note: Gemini chats aren’t end-to-end encrypted.
Start a Gemini Chat
Tap the existing Gemini conversation. Alternatively, select Start chat > Gemini.
Complete the Setup
Follow the on-screen instructions when chatting for the first time. Explore any introductory suggestions to understand what Gemini can do.
Enter Your Prompt
Type your question or request in the message field. Tap a suggested prompt to explore ideas and start a conversation.
Add a Photo
Tap the attachment or media icon to include a picture. Select a photo and add it to your prompt before sending.
Send and Explore
Tap Send message to receive Gemini’s response. You can also use supported apps within the chat for additional tasks.
