How to Control Your iPhone With Your Eyes
Eye Tracking Explained
Apple’s Eye Tracking lets you navigate an iPhone using your gaze instead of touch. The feature uses the front camera and is available on iPhone 12 and later.
Turn It On
Go to Settings → Accessibility → Physical and Motor → Eye Tracking. Keep the phone steady, follow the coloured dot and complete calibration.
Add More Controls
After calibration, add Dwell and Scroll controls through AssistiveTouch. These provide quick access to Home, Control Centre and notifications.
Customise Tracking
Snap to Item can move the pointer toward selectable elements automatically. Adjust Smoothing for faster or smoother pointer movement.
How Well Does It Work?
Eye Tracking handles basic navigation, menus, apps and toggles reasonably well. Users can select items simply by looking at them for a moment.
Know the Limitations
Typing can be difficult, particularly when selecting keys around the keyboard edges. Long-page scrolling may be inconsistent, making Eye Tracking better suited to basic tasks.
