Siri AI on iPhone: 7 Things to Know
Meet the New Siri AI
Apple’s redesigned Siri in iOS 27 offers a more contextual and capable assistant. It requires a separate opt-in and waitlist approval; updating your iPhone alone is not enough.
How to Activate Siri AI
Update to iOS 27, open Settings, select Siri and tap “Try Siri AI (Beta).” Complete voice setup and privacy checks, then wait for approval and the automatic download.
Which Devices Are Compatible?
Supported iPhones start with the iPhone 15 Pro series, iPhone Air and iPhone 16 models or later. Select iPads and Apple Watches also qualify. English is supported at launch, and India is included.
What Can Siri AI Do?
Search personal information across messages, emails, photos, calendars and notes using natural language. Get web answers, draft messages, create events, edit photos and perform supported actions in apps.
More AI Features in iOS 27
Photos gains new editing tools, while Safari can group tabs and notify users about price drops. Shortcuts, Calendar, Mail and Messages gain smarter features, alongside improved Home app notifications.
Daily Limits and Future Pricing
Server-powered Siri AI features have daily usage limits that vary with demand and task complexity. Apple has confirmed plans for paid expanded access, but pricing and launch details remain unannounced.
Switch Back to Siri Classic
To disable Siri AI, go to Settings, open Siri and select “Turn Off Siri.” To restore the older assistant, enable Siri again and choose “Use Siri Classic.” You can rejoin the AI waitlist later.
