WhatsApp To Soon Let You Schedule Messages, Photos And Videos

WhatsApp is reportedly testing message scheduling for Android beta users. The feature may support texts, photos, videos, documents and other media.

Scheduled messages could be delivered even when the sender’s phone is offline. The feature is also expected to support individual and group chats.

Users may need to press and hold the send button to select a date and time. It could help schedule greetings, meeting invitations and event links in advance.

A dedicated “Scheduled messages” tab may allow users to view, manage or delete messages. Messages are expected to be sent automatically at the selected time.

Users may be able to schedule images and videos through the gallery picker. The reported feature may allow only one image or video to be scheduled at a time.

According to WABetaInfo, the feature is rolling out to select Android beta testers using version 2.26.40.7. If a scheduled message is deleted before delivery, the recipient reportedly will not receive a notification about its deletion.
