100 kmph Range in less than 4 seconds, Kia makes Debut of its First Electric Vehicle

Dedicated EV Platform
Earlier this month, Kia EV6 has unveiled to the world and the South Korean Manufacturer has dropped additional details stating that, the above vehicle is 1st ever battery electric vehicle (BEV) to have new Electric Global Modular Platform(E-GMP), a dedicated EV platform
Available in Three Variants
Kia EV6 would be available in three variants they include EV6, EV6 GT and EV6 GT Line.
Long Range & all-Wheel drive Options
For EV6 GT, it features only long range battery pack. This one is the Kia’s 1st EV to be available in both options two-wheel (2WD) or all-Wheel drive (AWD).
Performance –For Range Anxious
In a mere 3.5 seconds the performance oriented GT can reach 100 kmph. On a single charge on the WLTP cycle, the 2WD 77.4kWh EV6 can travel more than 510 km. For AWD version, the maximum 605 Nm torque is available.
Flexibility of the Platform
The vehicle is equipped with 430kW dual motors and it offers a maximum 740 Nm torque, the AWD GT reaches the top speed of nearing to 260 km/h (preliminary development target).
800V Ultra-Fast Charging
In mere 18 minutes. 80% charge is completed, new vehicle to load (V2L) function. The EV66 provides 800V as well as 400V charging capabilities, without any additional adapters or components. The car’s charging system is flexible when compared to previous generation BEVs.
For Gentle Halt
The system’s i-PEDAl driving mode enables the car to harvest the more amount of energy from its brakes. It also enables the driver to bring the car to a gentle halt, without any need to push the brake pedal.
Interiors & Exteriors
The EV6 carries a new Digital Tiger Face replacing the traditional Kia Tiger nose grille. It is both sleek and minimalistic, flanked by sequential DRLs & pair of dynamic LED headlights. Its seats are draped in recycled plastic, its eco-friendly.
Need to Wait
We need to wait and see whether Kia would offer EV6 in India or not. The Carmaker has been striving to reach its ambitious goal for its electric vehicles and its aim reach minimum 40% of sales through EVs, HEVs and PHEVs by the end of 2030.
