Flydubai Cockpit Attack: 10 Moments That Capture Captain Smit Machchhar’s Ordeal

A video showing Indian Captain Smit Machchhar injured moments after a flydubai cockpit attack has surfaced, giving a glimpse into the chaos that unfolded during the flight.
The video is of Machchhar being seen badly injured and bleeding from multiple wounds as people inside the aircraft are helping him.
The injured pilot can also be seen receiving oxygen as other passengers and crew members gather around to offer assistance.
In one scene of the video, Machchhar can be heard saying, “He hit me so many times” referring to the repeated assault in the cockpit.
On September 30, Machchhar was the captain of a Boeing 737 MAX 8 on flydubai flight FZ1073, which was en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv.
Machchhar, meanwhile, was attacked by his co-pilot who stabbed him in the cockpit during the flight, the report said.
After the attack the plane suddenly made a steep dive, as Israeli officials stated the plane plummeted nearly 14,000 feet in just a minute.
Although he was badly injured, Machchhar was able to operate the cockpit door release, allowing the passengers and crew members to get into the cockpit.
The passengers and crew then faced the attacker and Machchhar was medically attended after the attack.
The video has shed more light on the severity of the mid-air incident, and authorities are still investigating the cockpit attack on flydubai and the circumstances under which the aircraft suddenly plunged.
