Kohli, Dhoni win prestigious honours as ICC announce winners of Decade awards
Virat Kohli
The Indian skipper won the Sir Garfield Sobers Award for ICC Male Cricketer of the Decade for his prolific record across formats.
Ellyse Perry
Australian’s renowned all-rounder Ellyse Perry won the Rachael Heyhoe-Flint Award for ICC Female Cricketer of the Decade.
Steve Smith
Former Australian captain Steve Smith was awarded the ICC Test Player of the Decade award for scoring over 7,000 runs at an excellent average of 65.79, including 26 centuries and 28 fifties.
Virat Kohli, again!
Kohli beat former India captain MS Dhoni to clinch ICC’s ODI Player of the Decade award for his unbelievable performance in the 50-over format in this decade. He was the only player to score 11,000 or more runs, which included 42 centuries.
MS Dhoni
India’s World Cup-winning captain MS Dhoni won the ICC Spirit of Cricket Award of the Decade. He was chosen by fans unanimously for his gesture of calling back former England batter Ian Bell following a disputable runout at Trent Bridge in 2011.
Rashid Khan
The Afghanistan star bowler grabbed the award for ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Decade, for bagging 89 wickets at an average of just 12.62 apiece with an economy rate of 6.14 runs per over in 48 matches across the last 10 years.
Kyle Coetzer
The Scotland cricketer claimed the ICC Men’s Associate Cricketer of the Decade award.
