WhatsApp's New Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

WhatsApp's new terms go into effect from February 8, 2021

WhatsApp remains end-to-end encrypted — Facebook cannot read them.

WhatsApp share estimated location with Facebook.

WhatsApp stores the media files you share only temporarily.

WhatsApp will not record or track your audio/video calls.

WhatsApp does not store your messages. You can opt to back up with Google Drive or Apple iCloud.

If a business chooses to use Facebook's secure hosting infrastructure, it will use the messages it processes on behalf of and at the order/s of the company.

Hiring a third-party company to host and store the messages is an industry-standard practice.

User can easily block a business anytime.

You can either stick to WhatsApp, hoping India to implement new data protection laws Or switch to another app, which is not owned by big tech companies.
