WhatsApp is delaying its new privacy policy update rollout till May 15 amid criticism and ‘confusion’ around it
It is no longer mandatory for WhatsApp users to ‘accept’ its new terms and conditions before February 8
WhatsApp is assuring users via Status Messages
WhatsApp said, “This update does not expand our ability to share data with Facebook.”
WhatsApp says it Does Not - share your contacts with Facebook - keep logs of people contacting or messaging others - access shared locations and other such information
WhatsApp aims to protect people’s conversations with end-to-end encryption, and neither WhatsApp nor Facebook can access these messages.
It is not clear if users who have already accepted these new terms and conditions will have an option to opt-out.
