A 39-year-old married woman gave a new life to eight patients when her vital organs were donated on Monday. 

Ongole: A 39-year-old married woman gave a new life to eight patients when her vital organs were donated on Monday.

The woman, who was identified as Pinnika Padmavathi, was a resident of Ongole. On December 5, she was rushed to hospital when she fell unconscious while performing her daily chores at home.

As her condition continued to be critical, doctors advised the family members to take her to KIMS in Hyderabad for better medical care. The KIMS doctors declared her brain dead due to cerebral haemorrhage on December 17.

Subsequently, her husband, Srinivas, has decided to donate her vital organs as per her wish. The doctors made an arrangement to shift the organs to eight needy patients in various cities in the country. One of her Kidney and heart were safely transported to Chennai where the transplantation would be performed to a patient. Another kidney, liver, lungs and eyes were donated to various patients who were anxiously waiting for help at a hospital in Mumbai.

Padmavati's last rites were performed at Panguluri Vari Palem village in Jarugumalli mandal on Monday evening here in the district.
