The Telugu World Artists Art Society (TWAAS), in association with Kaladarshini Cultural Academy of Andhra Loyola College, will organise a one-day Chitrakala Festival in the city on February 15. Society secretary K Balayogi said, “TWAAS had decided to conduct the art festival in Vijayawada every year henceforth. The festival will be on par with ‘Chitra Santhe’ annual art festival held in Bengaluru.

The festival will be on par with ‘Chitra Santhe’ annual art festival held in Bengaluru.

The festival will provide a platform for artists to sell their art works at better prices. About 1,000 artists from across the country are expected to showcase their works at the festival. TWAAS is also planning to organise the All India Exhibition Tour with 50 eminent artists in February covering Guntur, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru and Kolkata. The tour will provide a platform for budding artists to sharpen their artistic skills,” he said.

TWAAS president SM Peeran said that the society would present a Lifetime Achievement Award to an artist every year in the name of eminent cartoonist Bapu, who served as a patron advisor to the Art Society for a long time. Kaladarshini Cultural Academy director Fr Ravi Sekhar and others were present.
