The Mahindra e-Verito was first showcased to the public at the 2012 Auto Expo. The vehicle was showcased again at the 2014 Auto Expo and this time Mahindra also made some cosmetic tweaks to the vehicle. Today, the Indian automaker has launched the vehicle starting at a price of Rs 9.50 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Mahindra e-Verito is powered by a 29 kW AC motor which is connected to a single speed transmission. This combination is quite similar to the e2o. The sedan gets a 72V Lithium ion battery which takes 7 hours to charge fully. You can also make use of the fast charging mode to charge it 80% in 1.45 hours. The vehicle can attain a top speed of 85 km/hr while its maximum range is 110 kms. Running cost of the vehicle is Rs 1.10/- per km.

The interiors of the vehicle are similar to the regular Verito sedan. The Mahindra e-Verito also benefits from the government’s FAME scheme for electric vehicles. At present, there are no EVs being sold in our market except the e20, if we talk about the affordable price bracket.

With the launch of the e-Verito for commercial markets, Mahindra has two players in the EV market. Demand for EVs is set to increase after the next few years when buyers have more choices. Sales of the e-Verito have begun in Delhi and will be followed by other cities like Bengaluru, Mumbai and Pune soon.
