The three day playlet festival ‘Young Tarang’ conducted by New Star Modern Theater Arts Welfare Association at the Ghnatasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College Vijayawada ended on Wednesday.

The three day playlet festival ‘Young Tarang’ conducted by New Star Modern Theater Arts Welfare Association at the Ghnatasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College Vijayawada ended on Wednesday.

In all, five playlets directed by young artistes were staged in the “Young Tarang” from Monday to Wednesday. MS Chowdary, a young talented writer and director and inspiration for many young artistes, was the strong force behind this three day festival.

The event traditionally commenced with the ‘Swagata nrityam’ by the disciples of Yallajyosthula Anuradha. Later a playlet directed by R Vasu ‘Anaganaga’ was staged. It is a folklore based story written by Mrityunjaya Rao. The stage and the blocking of the artistes were aptly designed by the director. The artistes received laurels from the audience.

The second day festival commenced with the play let ‘Whistle’ written by Endla Chandra Sekhar and directed by Basheer. It was a thought provoking playlet and the writer tried to convey the message that how the people should protect themselves from the anti social elements.

The next playlet was staged by Govada Creations ‘Rachabanda’ written by R Pullachari and directed by Venkat Govada. This playlet was portrayed the contemporary society. The last play ‘Oka Dayyam Atma Kadha’ on the second day was presented by Rasagna and directed by Dr Trinatha Rao. The writer tried to convey that there were no devils but the thoughts and intuition will act on a person.

On the concluding day ‘Sujalam.. Suphalam’ written and directed by MS Chowdary, was staged. This was mainly focused on the global warming. This play was acclaimed by the connoisseurs. Young Theater personality R Rajesh was felicitated on the occasion.

Ambati Madhumohana Krishna, Golla Narayana Rao, DN Deekshit, Patibandla Ananda Rao, Gummadi Gopala Krishna, R Mohana Krishna, Edara Hari Babu, Dr Kandimalla Sambasiva Rao, Pilla Umamaheswara Patrudu and others participated during the three day event.
