Over 1,500 pet dogs given anti-rabies vaccine
World Zoonosis Day was observed at NTR Veterinary Super Speciality Hospital in the city on Wednesday.
World Zoonosis Day was observed at NTR Veterinary Super Speciality Hospital in the city on Wednesday. State Additional Director of Animal Husbandry K Krishna Murthy attended the programme held to mark the occasion as a chief guest. An awareness meet on zoonotic diseases was conducted. Pamphlets on zoonotic diseases were also released as part of an awareness campaign.
Anti-rabies vaccine was administered to 1,500 pet dogs free of cost to mark the occasion. District Joint Director of Animal Husbandry T Damodar Naidu presided. Corporator Ch Sujatha, Hospital Deputy Director P Padma, SIADIAR Joint Director Ratnakumari, assistant director V Prasad and others spoke. The medical and paramedical staff of the veterinary hospital participated in the programme.
