Ford India has strategically moved forward with its Figo and Aspire lineup by reducing prices to lure more customers. The American company wants to cement its position in the Rs 6-9 lakh price category with these two models, with the Figo getting cheaper by up to Rs 50,000 while the Aspire becomes more affordable by up to Rs 91,000.

Ford offers best-in-class six airbags on its top-end Titanium (+) variant of these two cars. SYNC, Ford’s own infotainment system is available with AppLink. Emergency Assistance and MyFordDock are also offered on these cars. There are a total of three engine-transmission options available to the buyer.

One can choose between the 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine and a 1.2-litre TiVCT petrol engine, both with five-speed manual transmissions and a 1.5-litre TiVCT petrol motor with Ford’s six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The diesel motor returns 25.83 km/l while the 1.2-litre petrol mill manages 18.16 km/l, which is a significant improvement from the previous generation model. The 1.5-litre petrol automatic is rated at 17.01 km/l (all figures as per ARAI).

The Ford Aspire and its hatch version are available in seven colour options Ruby Red, Sparkling Gold, Oxford White, Tuxedo Black, Deep Impact Blue, Ingot Silver and Smoke Grey. Ford’s Gujarat facility at Sanand, takes care of production for the two models and Ford recently started exporting the hatchback, badged as KA+ to Europe. Earlier this year, Ford dropped prices of the EcoSport due to the launch of the Maruti Vitara Brezza, its closest rival till date.
