Call to promote eye donation
Swetcha Gora Eye Bank has set up an exhibition on eye donation at Vasavya Mahila Mandali in the city to mark the National Eye Donation Fortnight being observed from August 25 to September 8.

Speaking after inaugurating the exhibition on Thursday, Dr G Samaram, executive director of Swetcha Gora Eye Bank, underlined the need to motivate people to pledge their eyes through a massive awareness campaign.
The eye bank will organise several programmes to mark the fortnight. An essay writing competition on eye donation will be conducted for high school students on August 31. Painting, singing and quiz contests will be organised on September 1, 2 and 3 respectively.
A screening camp for the visually impaired will be held at Vasavya Mahila Mandali on September 6 for the conduct of corneal grafting, Dr Samaram said. Eye bank manager D Ravi Kumar was also present on the occasion.
