LIC adopts 314 schools
Marking 60 years of its existence, the South Central Zone of Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India on Thursday decided to adopt 17 villages and 314 schools in its zone. This will cover Telangana State, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

Suseel Kumar, zonal manager, South Central Zone said that the zone completed 30.29 lakh policies with a premium of Rs.3307.16 crore during 2015-16. In pension and group schemes, the zone covered 1.08 crore lives with a premium of Rs.11783 crore.”
This zone stood in number two position in the country and No 1 in all India rankings in social security group schemes. Life Insurance Corporation of India completed 60 years of its incorporation on Thursday.
South Central Zone, a prestigious and leading Zone of the Corporation, was formed in June, 1990. Starting with an initial capital of Rs five cr in 1956 it today boasts of assets of over Rs 22 lakh crore with Life Fund to the tune of Rs. 20,57,625.38 Crore.
Suseel Kumar said that the Bima Gram Scheme, launched in villages having less than 10,000 population is entitled for certain benefits like construction of water tank, solar light and hand to fulfilling business conditions. The total number of policies serviced by this Zone is 4.42 crore (AP-1.39 crore, Telanagana-1.03 crore and Karnataka-2.00 crore.)
