The government of India, Ministry of Textiles Regional office Guntur organised a Textile expo at Vedika convention center, near Benz circle on Thursday.

The government of India, Ministry of Textiles Regional office Guntur organised a Textile expo at Vedika convention center, near Benz circle on Thursday. The expo is being continued till September 18. The event has been inaugurated by the President of Cloth merchants association CH Raghuram and Assistant director of Textile ministry regional office Chandramouli.

On the occasion of inauguration, Chandramouli stated that the new capital is in need of textile manufacturing units and the government is also giving 10 percent subsidy on the manufacturing units. The trade centers would be developed to increase the business ratios. He also said that the textile expo is completely business to business from manufacturers to the wholesalers which help to trade directly.

The chief guest CH Raghuram said that the city has got a good opportunity for the wholesalers to utilise the expo and connect to the textile firms from various parts of the country. He urged the ministry to hike the subsidy rate from ten to forty percent as many states are implementing with almost thirty percent subsidy. In this buyer seller meet, power-loom products like Bed-linen and ladies apparel from various clusters across the country are displayed.
