Blood donation camp marks Syndicate Bank Foundation Day
Syndicate Bank, in association with Rotary Red Cross Blood Bank, organised a blood donation camp at Siddhartha Academy auditorium in the city on Thursday to mark its 91st Foundation Day.
Syndicate Bank, in association with Rotary Red Cross Blood Bank, organised a blood donation camp at Siddhartha Academy auditorium in the city on Thursday to mark its 91st Foundation Day. VMC Commissioner G Veerapandian who participated in the programme as a chief guest, said youth should voluntarily come forward to donate blood as it helps save lives in medical emergencies. He lauded the gesture of the bank management in organising the blood donation camp as part of its Foundation Day celebrations.
Dr G Samaram, chairman of Rotary Red Cross Blood Bank, said people should develop blood donation as a habit as it is a humanitarian gesture. Syndicate Bank Vijayawada Regional Manager A Venkata Reddy presided. As many as 59 bank employees donated blood at the camp. A health camp was also conducted, in association with Dr Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre. Free blood sugar tests were conducted for 163 people at the camp. Dr S Madan Mohan, chief medical officer of the Blood Bank, and Syndicate Bank officials were present.
