The Karthika Masam celebrations began on a grand note in the city and different parts of Krishna district on Monday.

The Karthika Masam celebrations began on a grand note in the city and different parts of Krishna district on Monday. The devotees took holy dip in the River Krishna before visiting temples. With the onset of Karthika Masam, all Siva temples were reverberated with the chanting of ‘Om Namah Sivaya’.

Old Sivalayam in One Town witnessed huge rush. The devotees had a darshan of Lord Siva after taking a holy dip in the Krishna. The devotees took a dip at Durga ghat and visited Old Sivalayam as well as Goddess Durga temple. Due to heavy rush, the authorities of Durga temple and Old Sivalayam made all arrangements for the convenience of the devotees.

In all the Sivalayams in and around the city, Sahasra Lingarchana, Rudra Homam and other rituals were performed. The temples were decorated for Karthika Masam celebrations and devotees thronged in large numbers.

The devotees performed special pujas like Kumkumarchana and Rudrabhishekam to the deities at various temples, including Old Sivalayam and Governorpet Kasi Visweswara Swamy Devalayam and other temples.

The priests performed special pujas at different temples in the city like Mukthyala near Jaggaiahpet, Pavitra Sangamam near Ibrahimpatnam, Yanamalakuduru, Mopidevi and other areas in Krishna district.
