Mahindra is going to start offering Android Auto and Apple CarPlay on the XUV500 and Scorpio SUVs by 2017. Most of the features are command responsive including Google Maps and directions, traffic details and lane guidance. This will in turn reduce distractions from driving thereby reducing the risk of any accident.

The commuters of the cars will just have to plug in their Android smartphones or tablets to the Android Auto Infotainment system after which they can sit back and enjoy a series of features with an offer provided by Android Auto to play music for 90 days including 30 million songs to stream and play.

Android Auto will allow users to make calls and send or receive messages via voice commands and is also claimed to be safe as it monitors all the apps on the smartphones and tablets once plugged in and detects malfunctioning of any app.

Android Auto stores private photos, documents and other confidential information using location and one can set a lock screen and erase the data of their device if the phone is stolen. Currently, Mahindra offers their Blue Sense application in their automobiles which allows drivers to connect their phones to their vehicle via Bluetooth.
