Senior Inter-district Netball tourney begins in city
Andhra Pradesh senior inter district Men’s and Women’s Netball championship began at Satavahana College on Monday. The three-day league cum knockout tournament was inaugurated by Andhra Pradesh Olympic Association (APOA) treasurer KP Rao.
Andhra Pradesh senior inter district Men’s and Women’s Netball championship began at Satavahana College on Monday. The three-day league cum knockout tournament was inaugurated by Andhra Pradesh Olympic Association (APOA) treasurer KP Rao. Krishna District Netball Association (KDNBA) is hosting the event. In all, 12 Men and eight Women teams have been participating in the tournament.
Speaking on the occasion APOA treasurer KP Rao said that the state government should implement sports and games as compulsory subject. He suggested for the parents to encourage their children to participate in sports and games. Rao further said that as per New Sports Policy, the government should implement sports and games as a compulsory subject in schools and colleges.
Andhra Pradesh Netball Association senior vice-president Raktamaya, association treasurer Vijaykumar, state secretary B Sivaram, Satavahana College Principal KN Sarma and others were present at the event.
First day results:
- Senior Men: Prakasam beat Chittoor 19-3
- East Godavari beat Vizianagaram 7-4
- SPR Nellore beat Kurnool 14-1
