Early detection is the best protection and it is necessary to fight against the breast cancer said Kakinada Mayor Sunkara.Pavani here on Sunday. Pavani launched the ‘Think Pink’ programme on breast cancer awareness organized by the ‘Third I’ diagnostic centre.

Speaking on this occasion she informed that One in eight woman is suffering from breast cancer in India. She also said ‘Think pink’ is a community effort to promote breast cancer awareness among women especially those who are living in villages and in remote areas. She further informed that every year October month is called as the breast cancer month for awareness.

Mayor further told that ‘Pink Ribbon’ is the logo of the breast cancer awareness programme. Pavani further said that with mammography one can detect breast cancer and the mammogram facility is in ‘Third I’ diagnostic centre. District Congress President Pantam Nanaji, Pantam Indira, Dr Anand and College Students from Aditya and KIET College also participated in the programme. Later all the participants rallied from Raja Tank to the ‘Third I’ diagnostic centre in Srinagar.
