Rajamahendravaram: International Paper India Foundation donated Rs 5 lakh worth of 100 desk benches to municipal high school located in Anand Nagar here on Friday.
All the desk benches were purchased from Central Prison. International Paper Mill chairman Don P Devlin, urban MLA Dr A Satyananrayana and Mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai handed over the desk-benches to the school authorities.

Later, addressing the gathering, the Mayor said that the coporation intiated steps to provide corporate education to the students studying in municipal schools. The corporation provided necessary facilities in all the schools in the city, she said.

All the vacant teacher posts were filled and respective head masters were directed to conduct special classes to the students. To get highest marks in the ensuing tenth class public examinations, as many as 60 tenth class students were selected under Super 60 scheme. All the students will be given special coaching in Narayanapuram municipal school.

Urban MLA Dr A Satyanarayana advised the students to concentrate on studies as the corporation was providing necessary facilities in the schools.

It was the time for the students to mould themselves and try to score highest marks to get seats in good courses.

Devlin said under Corporate Social Responsibility, the furniture was donated to the municipal high school. The paper mill was in forefront to serve the needy in the city under its CSR initiative, he added.
