Guntur: Doctors of the neurology department from the Guntur General Hospital (GGH) gave Thrombolytic therapy to a paralysis patient whose left hand, left leg and mouth went out of order. The patient recovered and has walked after three days.

According to doctors, the patient, V Satyanarayana (70) of Chintapallipadu village came to the GGH with a blood sugar level at 420 and high blood pressure. He got a severe paralysis stroke because of it. His left leg, left hand and mouth were affected by it.

Doctors took a CT scan of the patient and found that the patient had clots in his brain. After conducting various tests, neurologist Dr Gajula Ramakrishna gave Thrombolytic therapy and Elaxim -40 injection. The cost of the injection is Rs 43,900. The patient recovered within three days. He is now walking.

Speaking to the media, Dr Ramakrishna said, “We have administered thrombolytic therapy and Elaxim injection apart from other medicines. The patient has recovered. The patient walked in presence of doctors and the media. If the same treatment is given in private hospitals, the doctors will charge a minimum of Rs 5 lakh.” Patient Satyanarayana said, “I had no hope on my recovery. I have recovered because of the treatment given by the doctors in the GGH. Now I am walking.”
