Guntur: Real Time Management project director, in the DMA office, Samba Murthy directed the officials to create awareness among people on the garbage collection under Real Time Management. He addressed a meeting held at the GMC on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, he stressed the need to segregate the dry and wet garbage at collection point. He directed them to take residential associations also into confidence to create awareness.

He further said that every house gate would be tagged with RFID (Radio frequency identification). The GMC will get information of every house on quantity of garbage generated every day. Based on that the GMC would take steps to collect the garbage. In case of need, it would engage more workers and vehicles to lift the garbage. He sought cooperation of the sanitary mastris, sanitation inspector to make success the proposed programme.

GMC Commissioner Challa Anuradhja explained the GO 279 issued by the government to make changes in the garbage collection and significance of the real time monitoring system. Additional Commissioner K Ramachandra Reddy and GMC officials were also present.
