Bhadrachalam: The leaders of Andhra Pradesh Civil Liberties Committee (APCLC) alleged here on Wednesday that police and hospital authorities in Bhadrachalam had violated the directions of the Andhra Pradesh High Court which allowed the relatives of the deceased Maoists to see the bodies and directed preservation of the bodies.

APCLC leaders Raghunath, Varavara Rao, Ravindranath and Sambasiva Rao, who were here as a fact-finding team, told the media that Justice L Narasimha Reddy of the High Court acted on their petition on Tuesday night and directed the police to preserve the bodies properly and allow their relatives to see them. But the hospital authorities and the police did not follow the directions of the Court.

The police finally relented and allowed the relatives to see the bodies after the rights activists staged a vociferous dharna at the hospital. Six of the nine bodies were handed over to the relatives in the evening.
