Gold jewels worth Rs 26L recovered The three-member gang was involved in as many as 32 chain-snatching cases in nine city police station limits. chainHyderabad: In a major breakthrough, the Humayun Nagar police on Friday busted a 'notorious' three-member gang involved in as many as 32 chain-snatching cases in nine city police station limits and recovered one kg of gold ornaments worth Rs 26 lakh. Lately, chain snatching had become such a menace that the city police had kept caution banners across the city warning citizens of the mobike-borne gangs. The gang used to move on motorcycles and snatch jewellery from unsuspected women moving alone in isolated places or in late hours or during morning walks in colonies, parks, temples, super markets etc,. The police also nabbed two others - Mohd Abdul Kareem, 32 of Red Hills and Syed Shanawaz, 24, a goldsmith of Jamia Nizamia for receiving and purchasing the stolen property. The arrested chain-snatchers were identified as Mohd Abdul Faheem alias Faheem, 23, involved in cell phone business at Madan Khan Colony, near Navabsabkunta, Abdul Sameer alias Sameer,25, an auto driver of Bandlaguda in Chandrayangutta, and Syed Abdul Nayeem alias Shakeel, 30, a mobile technician of Khilwath in Old City. All the accused were arrested at the residence of Faheem arrayed as accused number 1 and seized two vehicles, police said, adding that one Syed Ahmedullah alias Ahmed (25), a mobile businessman from Zubeda Masjid in Asifnagar was absconding. Police advised people to move in a group during morning walks, visit to temples, shopping malls, cinema theatres and not to expose ornaments while moving alone. Also asked the citizens to be vigilant and dial 100 if any suspicious character or numberless vehicles � especially Bajaj Pulsar or Honda Twister - are found moving in the areas.
