A During the searches conducted at his flat in Sai Enclave here, they found the Voter ID card of B B Mohanty, the former DGP of Odisha and father of Bitti Mohanty who had been on the run for seven years after jumping parole during a seven year jail term for molesting a German tourist in Rajasthan. The team also questioned the principal of the college. It's Bitti, say Rajasthan cops Kannur (IANS): Rajasthan Police have confirmed that the man arrested in Kerala is the elusive rapist Bitti Mohanty, who jumped parole in 2006 after his arrest the same year for raping a German woman in Alwar, police said here on Monday. A team of Rajasthan Police officials arrived in the evening and confirmed to Kerala investigators that the person they took into custody last week was Bitti, an official said. Kerala Police official M Anil, who arrested the accused, told IANS that Rajasthan Police had identified him and said that he was Bitti. "We will take him to Rajasthan Tuesday for investigations on how he managed to get certificates and documents in the fake identity of "Raghava Raj" from Andhra Pradesh," said Anil. The Kerala Police have formed three teams of 20 officials to travel to Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha for the investigation. "Bitti will be first taken to Rajasthan where he jumped parole in 2006. If need be, he will be taken to the other two states," said a police official. In Kerala, Bitti was picked up by police on March 8 after the State Bank of Travancore, where he had been working as a probationary officer, raised doubts about his identity. He secured the job using the name 'Raghava Rajan' and had documents that showed he hailed from Andhra Pradesh.
