kanna lakshmi narayanaNew Delhi : Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Minister Kanna Lakshminarayana on Tuesday called on Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar and pleaded for setting up Central Agricultural University in the State.A Kanna Lakshminarayana has also sought National Research Centre on Chillies in Guntur and National Research Centre on Turmeric in Nizamabad. The Andhra Pradesh Minister also urged Pawar to expedite permissions required for conducting the World Agricultural Forum Congress.

Under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana, he pointed out that an amount of Rs 362 crore was allocated during 2013-14. This was very low, compared to Rs 600 crore sanctioned during 2012-13. Against this backdrop, he urged Pawar to enhance the same.A On the fertilizers issue, he requested Pawar for enhancement of urea allocation from 16.50 lakh million tonnes to 17.50 lakh million tonnes.

Kanna Lakshminarayana sought from Pawar inclusion of eight new rake points in the online Fertiliser Monitoring System for the speedy movement and timely supply of fertilizers. He wanted the new rake points in Mancherial and Basar in Adilabad, Jagtiyal in Karimnagar, Kothagudem and Mnuguru in Khammam and Mirzapalli, Akkannapet and Zaheerabad in Medak district.
