hari2Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi faulted GO No. 43 issued in February for recruitment of additional teachers' posts in government schools. Without taking into account the existing teacher-pupil ratio, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had granted 2231 posts to Chittoor district alone out of the total 10,917 posts on offer for the entire state, the party alleged. Talking to reporters at Assembly media point on Monday, TRS deputy floor leader T Harish Rao termed Kiran Kumar Reddy as theChief Minister for Chittoor district, and not for the entire state. "Be it drinking water issue or several other projects, the Chief Minister is only worried about his district and hence granting funds at will. Even the decision to recruit additional teachers is not an exception to this with Chittoor getting bulk share," Harish added. The annoying aspect is that Chittoor DEO recommended closure of 251 schools that do not have a single student on their rolls. Despite the fact that there are 500 teachers in excess in the district, Kiran Kumar Reddy freshly sanctioned 2231 extra posts, the TRS leader pointed out. On the other hand, the districts represented by his cabinet colleagues from Telangana were completely neglected-Medak getting 216 posts, Karimnagar, a meagre 28 posts, while Hyderabad accounting only 250 posts, Harish added. The TRS leader pointed out that the disparity continued even in School Assistant jobs. Out of the total 1929, a whopping 946 posts were sanctioned for the chief minister's native district.
