Hyderabad: Enthused by the positive response from the stakeholders towards energy efficiency and energy conservation (EE and EC) initiatives, the State Energy Conservation Mission (SECM) has further decided to take up district-wise Energy Efficiency Plans (EEP) to achieve the desired goals of energy savings to the maximum extent.

Delivering a lecture in a technical session of EE and EC as part of the two-day national seminar on 'Strategies for Energy Security', organised by Institution of Engineers of India(IEI), on the occasion of 112th birth day of Padmabhushan Dr KL Rao here, SECM Chief Executive Officer A Chandra Sekhara Reddy said that the efforts are being made to study the best practices available across the world and share the same with district level energy conservation committees headed by District Collectors to implement the EC and EE measures more effectively.

He added, "As per the estimation of Energy Conservation Committee, the energy savings per annum worth of Rs 7,900 crore by adopting various short term and long term programmes."
