tlead1Hyderabad: The remarks made by AICC spokesperson Renuka Chowdhary over the suicides by students for the cause of separate Telangana sparked off a strong wave of protests from the TJAC as well as other Telangana organisations. Even the Congress party leaders expressed their unhappiness over the "uncalled for" remarks by Renuka. Talking to reporters, TJAC chief Prof. Kodandaram demanded the Congress party to take action against Renuka Chowdhary. "Srikantha Chary, Yadaiah, Yadi Reddy and many others laid down their lives for the cause which was even mentioned in their dying declarations. How can she attribute diseases and naxalite firings as causes for death to such sacrifices?" he asked. Earlier, Kodandaram along with Addanki Dayaker, K Govardhan, G Rajender Reddy and others met PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana in Ministers Quarters on Tuesday, and lodged their protest against the Congress leader's statements. It is learnt that PCC Chief expressed apologies on behalf of Renuka Chowdhary, if she indeed made such remarks. Insulting the sentiments of a particular region is not proper, and uncalled for, he told the JAC delegation, and promised that he would take it to the notice of the party high command. Congress MLC Yadav Reddy said that he would complain to the party high command against her remarks. He said Renuka should apologise to the people of the region and withdraw her remarks.
